Dr. Saleem Ahmed |

We are excited to welcome our physician for the month of March, Dr. Saleem Ahmed. Dr. Ahmed, a Pakistani physician, who, in Roanoke, started as Director of Anatomy at the Virginia Tech Carillon Medical School and also taught at Jefferson College of Health Sciences’ Physician Assistant Program. Prior to Roanoke, he also taught at the Edward Via Osteopathic School of Medicine in Blacksburg. He holds a Higher Secondary Certificate from St. Patrick’s College in Pakistan, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree (equivalent to an M.D.) from Assiut University in Egypt. He became a Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan and practiced as a general surgeon at the Aga Khan University Hospital and Medical College in Pakistan and at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City, IA, prior to moving to Roanoke. Dr. Ahmed is an active member of: Voices of Faith, a Roanoke Valley organization that creates opportunities for interfaith conversation and activities; Points of Diversity, an organization which seeks to create a more inclusive community within the Roanoke Valley through education, dialogue and service; and Diversity Committee of the Roanoke County Public Schools. More recently, Dr. Ahmed has also been actively involved on the advisory boards of Roanoke Valley Unites and a Virginia Humanities funded program: “Changing the Narrative.”

We would like to welcome our physician for the months of October and November, Dr. Ali Mehdi Moosvi. Dr. Moosvi is a 2018 graduate from The University of Queensland Faculty of Medicine in Brisbane, Australia. He is currently pursuing pathology residency training at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and serves as a program resident forum delegate for the College of American Pathologists. A few of his interests include molecular, genitourinary, soft tissue, and pediatric pathology.

Dr. Umar Rahman |

We are excited to welcome our physician for the month of September, Dr. Umar Rahman. He is a psychiatrist in the Washington Metropolitan Area and has been practicing for over 20 years. Dr. Rahman graduated from Dow Medical College with residency at St. Elizabeths Hospital and a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry and consultation liason at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. His field of interest are treatment of acute psychiatric illnesses and geriatric psychiatry.

Dr. Armina Rahman |

We are excited to welcome our physician for the month of April, Dr. Armina Rahman. She is a pediatrician and private practice owner of Clarksburg Pediatrics with offices in Clarksburg and Montgomery Village, MD. Dr. Rahman graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine with Residency at Creighton/University of Nebraska combined with a Pediatric Residency Program and Fellowship training in Neonatology at the University of Pittsburgh. She has been in practice for over 25 years and counting with interests in infant growth and development, pediatric infectious disease, asthma/allergies and eczema.

We are excited to welcome our first physician for the month of March, Dr. Zareen Babar. She is a family medicine physician in Culpeper, VA working for UVA Culpeper Clinic as well as her own private practice, Blue Ridge Family Care. She has been practicing since 2008 and has recently been nominated as Culpeper’s best physician for 2020.
